BOTTLING A SMART EXPERIENCE
To launch its new Vermentino in Italy’s saturated wine market, Mazzei wanted more than just a label redesign—they wanted to offer a unique, digital-first experience that could express the brand’s heritage and innovation. Inspired by the Belguardo logo, drawn from Da Vinci’s Icosahedron, we embedded a functional QR code directly into the front label—turning a design detail into a smart access point. With one scan, users were guided through a sommelier-led tasting ritual that blended centuries of tradition with a touch of modern tech. The Smart Sommelier became a new way to discover and enjoy wine—praised by wine lovers, critics, and the industry alike.
